Mitchell traveled to Cuba with a group of 75 musicians as a photographer. The selected photographs, of the several thousand images taken, highlight the jewel of Cuba, its people, while noting the living conditions of the Cuban people. These photographs highlight that while the Cuban people have little in the way of economic success, they exhibit a pride, separate and apart from material possessions, that is both refreshing and instructive to those of us who are so fortunate by comparison. These photographs hang in several restaurants (in large 4 x 8 foot custom prints), in ELM Companies’ world headquarters in Illinois, as well as in many private collections.
